The UCLA Bruins tight end room took a massive hit with Hudson Habermehl tearing his ACL in the spring. The Bruins did add Bryce Pierre from Arizona State and have Moliki Matavao back on the roster.
Moliki Matavao transferred from Oregon and spent the 2023 season with the Bruins.
SuperWest Sports ranked the best tight ends by the West Coast schools and he is ranked as the 7th-best tight end on the list, per Stephen Villardo of SuperWest Sports.
In 2023, Matavoa averaged an astounding 20.2 yards per reception on his 14 catches in 2023.His production went up drastically during the back end of the season and that momentum should carry into 2024.
With the Bruins moving to the Big Ten Matavoa should provide a steady target.
