The UCLA Bruins football program was one of the finalists for linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale. However, he is now headed to the Washington Huskies, per a report from Hayes Fawcett of On3.
The finalists were Washington, Florida State, and UCLA, but the Washington native decided to stay close to home and join Jedd Fisch’s team which is fresh off a run to the College Football Playoff.
Rainey-Sale is a four-star linebacker in the Class of 2025 and would’ve been a massive addition to DeShaun Foster’s team going forward, but he is joining the Big Ten rival instead.
The Bruins have done well in the recruiting front since Foster came to town, although they recently lost another target to Ohio State, another Big Ten foe, as Trajen Odom chose the Buckeyes.
Eve though the missed out on Rainey-Sale, it has still been an encouraging offseason in recruiting for the UCLA Bruins football program.
