UCLA taps Colorado coach as associate director of football performance

The Bruins added another piece to their coaching staff.

Though the UCLA football offseason has only just begun, the Bruins are already making big moves on the coaching staff. After changing offensive coordinators and revamping their position coaches, UCLA added another piece to their football operation this week. UCLA hired Tersoo Uhaa, the former University of Colorado assistant head strength and conditioning coach, as its new associate director of football performance.

Uhaa boasts nearly a decade of strength and conditioning experience, making stops at Tennessee State, Texas Tech, and Georgia before landing with UCLA. Uhaa brings a fresh perspective on the program and a commitment to better fitness for the team.

Working with Deion Sanders and Colorado over the last two seasons, Uhaa conditioned a struggling team and turned it around. He enabled the Buffs to become one of college football’s most exciting programs and helped produce consensus top-five 2025 NFL draft picks Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders.

Though much of his work will be done behind the scenes, as the Bruins continue to grow and compete in the Big Ten, Uhaa will play an important role in elevating the Bruins’ talent next season.
