The UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team got Lauren Betts back on the court after she missed the NCAA Tournament opener against California Baptist. This time, it was a much closer game as Creighton took them down to the wire. Ultimately, UCLA came out on top with a 67-63 win to advance to the Sweet 16.
The Bruins saw 44 combined points from Kiki Rice and Lauren Betts as they overcame a 42-34 halftime deficit to get the win.
Betts finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds as Rice had 24 points with six rebounds. Charisma Osborne, who nearly had a triple-double against Cal Baptist, had five points with six boards and four assists against Creighton.
UCLA now goes to the Sweet 16 and faces Angel Reese and the defending champion LSU Tigers in a tough matchup, and one full of star power.
UCLA and LSU face off on Saturday, March 30, against LSU with a trip to the Elite Eight on the line.
