UCLA softball to face Alabama Crimson Tide

UCLA to face Alabama.

After a long rain delay in Knoxville Tennessee, the Alabama Crimson Tide moved on to the College World Series in Oklahoma City. Their next opponent, which will take place on Thursday, is the UCLA Bruins.

The party got started right away with the visitors scoring four runs in the first inning.  Riley Valentine hit her fourth home run of the season to put the Crimson Tide on top.

Tennessee finished the game with just four hits but eventually had the tying run on base late in the game. Jocelyn Briski picked up the win for the Crimson Tide after throwing 84 pitches. She went 6.1 innings, and allowed four hits andone one run, while striking out 4.

 

Kayla Beaver came in and slammed the door shut, throwing 12 pitches, and getting the final two batters out. The Crimson Tide with the win moved to 38-18. Tennessee, who was the three seed finished the season with a 44-12 record.

Alabama is in the College World Series for the 15th time in school history. Devon Park is the host of the tournament in Oklahoma City. The tournament will wrap up either June 6th or 7th.
