It is a bidding war for the #6 overall quarterback in the class of 2025, and the UCLA Bruins are in the mix.
The top uncommitted quarterback in his class, Husan Longstreet of Centennial High School in Bakersfield, California, is a four-star recruit according to 24/7 Sports.
Per On3’s Hayes Fawcett, on April 14th, Longstreet will choose from the final eight schools he is considering, including UCLA, Michigan, Oregon, Auburn, Louisville, Miami, Texas A&M, and Ole Miss.
Where Longstreet lands is still undecided, however. But, with the recent hire of Eric Bieniemy, who worked with Patrick Mahomes en route to two Super Bowl victories, UCLA is all of a sudden a compelling destination.
Several factors will play into Longstreet’s decision, but the prospect of playing in his home state of California and his future potential offensive coordinator in Bieniemy, UCLA has a puncher’s chance at landing Longstreet.
Should the Bruins be Longstreet’s choice on April 14th, he will be one of seven potential quarterbacks on the roster. Given the transfer portal, that number could increase or decrease after the 2024 season.
Longstreet has a big decision to make next month, and Bruins fans should hope that his choice is UCLA.
