The UCLA Bruins find themselves on an interesting and rarified list in college sports.
Along with nine other college programs, the Bruins are one of ten teams in the NCAA to win both a college football and college basketball National Championship.
Joining Ohio State, Syracuse, Maryland, Michigan State, California, Florida, Arkansas, Michigan, and Stanford, the Bruins tout the impressive feat.
Taking home their first and only college football national title in 1954, the Bruins claimed the championship after an undefeated 9-0 season. Though a game was not played for the title, they split the championship with Ohio State after they defeated USC, whom UCLA bested at the Coliseum 34-0.
On the hardwood, the Bruins have a more obvious claim to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, winning eleven from 1964 to 1995.

Though the outlook for both Bruins teams looks markedly worse than their predecessors, they remain a program with a pedigree and an ability to attract some of the best players of the best across the country.
