Following the commitment of Madden Iamaleava, the UCLA Bruins are still not done recruiting quarterbacks.
The UCLA Bruins made an offer to California native and three-star quarterback Cash Herrera this week. Herrera, from La Jolla’s Bishop School, stands at 6′ 3″ and 190 pounds. The 51st-ranked quarterback in the class of 2026, the Bruins made an offer to a local player to shore up a position of need.
Herrera, who posted on X a photo of himself with Bruins head coach DeShaun Foster, has caught the eye of fellow BIG 10 schools Iowa and Minnesota. Though Iamaleava is the projected starter for the Bruins once he arrives and is ready, the Bruins did their due diligence in recruiting Herrera.
Wow!! Truly blessed to say after a great camp and conversation with @DeShaunFoster26 I have received my 8th D1 offer from UCLA!! @BishopsFootball pic.twitter.com/aHc23k0oGP

The Bruins have made it a priority to target and recruit local talent over the last few months. For Herrera, his build offers upside to the Bruins and the potential to serve a role on the team if he develops more before his graduation. As is true for all college football teams, there is no such thing as too many quarterbacks.
