UCLA offers four-star California QB Madden Iamaleava

UCLA offers California native Madden Iamaleava.

The future quarterback search continues for the UCLA Bruins.

On Wednesday, UCLA extended an offer to four-star recruit and California native Madden Iamaleava. The 6′ 3″ 185 lb junior quarterback showcases true dual-threat capabilities. With the Bruins’ offense lacking in explosiveness, adding a quarterback who can make plays on the ground and through the air could be a spark plug for UCLA as they begin their tenure in the BIG 10.

Greg Biggins, a national recruiting analyst for 247 Sportsnoted Iamaleava’s ability to extend plays with his legs and has made strides as an accurate passer. Iamaleava also comes from a football family, with his brother, Nico, currently rostered as a quarterback at the University of Tennessee.

In order to secure Iamaleava, the Bruins will need to beat out pitches from fellow BIG 10 schools Nebraska and Colorado, as well as the recent ACC addition, California. But with UCLA’s need for a long-term quarterback, Iamaleava could be their answer.

With Ethan Garbers returning for his redshirt senior season in 2024, there will be a vacancy at the position for someone to take the reigns when Iamaleava prospectively joins the team in 2025.
