UCLA, New Mexico fans mourn the loss of Drew Gordon after tragic passing

On Thursday, the tragic news came of former UCLA Bruins and New Mexico Lobos basketball player Drew Gordon passing away. The 33-year-old was involved in a car accident.

He is the older brother of Denver Nuggets star Aaron Gordon, and the shocking news rattled the basketball community.

Gordon spent parts of two seasons with UCLA before announcing his decision to transfer in the midst of the 2009-2010 season. He then went to New Mexico and averaged 13.4 PPG during his two seasons with the Lobos.

UCLA fans and New Mexico fans mourned the loss of Gordon after the news came out.

Terrible news about Drew Gordon, who had two moderately successful years w/ UCLA hoops under Ben Howland.

He transferred to New Mexico State & blossomed, drafted in the 2nd round by the Nuggets, eventually playing 9 games for the 76ers before continuing his career overseas.

Was a hell of a player, and a great kid. Started his college career at UCLA before transferring to New Mexico. Had a lengthy career overseas.
