The UCLA Bruins football program has been a finalist for a number of big recruits lately. However, for the third time in a week, they have missed out on adding a big player on the recruiting front.
After Trajen Odom picked Ohio State and Zaydrius Rainey-Sale picked Washington, Chinedu Onyeagoro decided to commit to SMU, he announced on Monday afternoon.
“Thank God for everything without him I would be nothing, And Thank you to the SMU staff and fans for believing in me”
Onyeagoro had UCLA along with Washington, Georgia, Florida, Miami (FL), Arizona, Arizona State, Clemson, Northwestern, and SMU. However, he decided not to visit Washington toward the end of June and then had Washington, UCLA, Florida, and SMU as the final four.

Landing Onyeagoro would’ve been a massive pickup for DeShaun Foster’s program, but they once again missed out. On the plus side, it is encouraging that top recruits are even considering UCLA and have them as a finalist.
