UCLA lands highly-recruited 2026 wide receiver commitment

UCLA landed a decent 2026 player.

The UCLA Bruins got the best possible news from one of their recruits on Wednesday.

Jonah Smith, a wide receiver from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, announced his commitment to UCLA on X. Receiving a whopping 20 offers from NCAA D-1 schools, including fellow former Pac-12 members Utah, Washington, Arizona, and Oregon, the Bruins were Smith’s ultimate choice.

At 6′ and 175 lbs, Smith displays prototypical receiver size and above-average playmaking ability. Able to play in both the slot and on the outside, Smith is a speedy receiver with a great release from the line of scrimmage.

With breakaway capability, Smith could be a dizzying receiver to cover for BIG 10 defensive backs for years to come.

With Smith’s commitment and the Bruins being favorites to land several other talented offensive players, the Deshaun Foster regime has done an impressive job at adding future talent. Needing to step up their recruiting class in the tough BIG 10 conference, the Bruins continue to be in the mix to land highly-rated recruits.

If this trend can continue, they should have no problem competing with some of college football’s finest for seasons to come.
