UCLA in contact with UIC transfer Toby Okani

The Bruins have reached out to a UIC grad transfer.

The college basketball transfer portal is kicking into high gear despite March Madness going on. Already, the UCLA Bruins are working hard on the portal in hopes of improving the team, especially with a move to the Big Ten Conference in store.

The Bruins already expressed interest in Rutgers big man Cliff Omoruyi in the portal, and now they have shown interest in UIC grad transfer Toby Okani, per Joe Tipton of On3.

Okani has heard from a number of schools so far, including Xavier, Clemson, Arkansas, Florida State, BYU, Arizona State, California, St. Bonaventure, Hofstra, Murray State, Utah State, Wisconsin, George Washington, George Mason, and Richmond.

Okani averaged 11.1 PPG and 6.8 rebounds for the Flames this year in a disappointing campaign and he is now looking to catch on somewhere else. UCLA will likely continue to be active in the portal, whether or not Mick Cronin is the head coach there.
