The UCLA Bruins football team has had an eventful offseason since the end of its first season in the Big Ten. From coaching hires to transfer portal news, UCLA’s program has seen a lot of turnover to start the new year. This week, the Bruins got some good news in the transfer portal. Utah State running back Rahsul Faison narrowed his search to six programs, and UCLA is one of them, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. JoAining the Bruins on Faison’s wishlist are North Carolina, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida State, and Central Florida.
Though they have some stiff competition to contend with, the Bruins have a gaping hole at the running back position. After averaging a Big Ten-worst 86.8 yards per game on the ground and losing starter T.J. Harden to the transfer portal, the Bruins offer immediate playing time.
Faison finished fourth in the Moutain West in rushing yards with 1,109 yards, eight touchdowns, and averaging 5.6 yards per attempt.
For a Bruins team in desperate need of a bellcow tailback for the 2025 college football season, Faison offers a high upside in the transfer portal.
