Week one of college football has come to an end, the UCLA Bruins can turn the page on the start of the DeShaun Foster era. The win did not impress many, but going 1-0 was the goal, and that’s what they did. College Sports Wire updated their power rankings of Big Ten teams following the opener, and the UCLA Bruins have dropped to 17th out of 18 teams in the league.
Not many changes at the top of the top of the rankings. The Ohio State Buckeyes lead the charge, followed by the Oregon Ducks and Penn State Nittany Lions. The USC Trojans following their win over LSU come in fourth in the rankings.
Jeff Hicks of College Sports Wire had this to say about the UCLA Bruins in his power rankings:
UCLA’s halftime adjustments led to the win despite the unusual travel week. The Bruins will be traveling a lot in their inaugural Big Ten campaign, but their next game is back home against Indiana.
The only team listed below UCLA on the rankings was the Northwestern Wildcats. Northwestern did win their Week 1 affair over Akron. The lone team to lose in Week One was the Minnesota Golden Gophers. PJ Fleck’s squad lost to North Carolina at home. The Gophers are listed 15th in the rankings.
