The UCLA Bruins off-season has featured a lot of big-time commitments. This week, the Bruins picked up a commitment from a player with a big-time leg.
From the Sierra Canyon School, the Bruins earned a commitment from kicker Ashton Zamani. Zamani, who received a competing offer from the University of Oklahoma, is another example of DeShaun Foster and the UCLA staff finding local talent.
A Max Preps All-State kicker, Zamani could play a role for the Bruins special teams in the future and already boast an impressive tape. While not as flashy as a five-star receiver, having a kicker with a booming leg could make all the difference in BIG Ten play.

The Bruins are a team looking toward the future. Understanding that their roster is not built to compete for a BIG Ten title this season, their focus should be on stacking their roster with talented players.
In this case, with the commitment of Zamani, they are securing an important player on special teams for the future.
