The UCLA Bruins are set to play their first-ever Big Ten Conference game, which will be on Saturday at the Rose Bowl against the Indiana Hoosiers.
But, the schedule gets very difficult for UCLA from that point on, and a close Week 1 win over Hawaii didn’t do them any favors, either.
Ben Kenney of Badgers Wire ranked every Big Ten team based on the remaining strength of schedule, and UCLA is fifth on the list.
Remaining Strength of Schedule: No. 19 nationally
ESPN FPI Ranking: No. 60 (2.0)
FPI Projected Record: 4.5 — 7.5
Toughest Games: at No. 16 LSU, vs. No. 9 Oregon, at No. 8 Penn State, at No. 23 Nebraska, vs. Iowa, vs. No. 11 USC
From here on out, it will be a tough road for UCLA. The four teams ahead of them are Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska and then Purdue at the top.
UCLA faces LSU, Oregon, and Penn State in the next three weeks, all of which are top-25 teams. Then they face Nebraska, Iowa, Washington, and USC in a tough stretch that ends in November.
