Any fan of the NFL draft process who happens to also be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys has by now heard of the intriguing center from Iowa, Tyler Linderbaum. He seems to everyone’s leading want for the No. 24 pick the Cowboys earned with their wild-card playoff loss. He comes from a school that has become a pipeline for NFL offensive line talent and after finally securing a third game of film on Linderbaum it was time to turn on his tape. What was there?
Spoiler Alert: he’s good. Linderbaum is everything he is hyped up to be and more. He finished as a top-6 player (out of the 25 final evaluations already completed) so should anyone expect him to be there at 24? Probably not, but the NFL lets good players slide in the draft all the time. Justin Fields was a consensus QB2 and seen as a top 5 lock in most every mock draft but he ended up dropping down to 11th. Cowboys fans must be praying a similar situation occurs with Linderbaum. Here’s why.
