Tyler Herro was a full participant in Heat practice on Tuesday

The first-round pick has not played since Feb. 3 but could return to the lineup on Wednesday vs. the Hornets.

After missing the past 15 games due to an ankle injury, Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro was a full participant in practice on Tuesday, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Herro could be on track to play on Wednesday night as the Heat host the Charlotte Hornets. The first-round pick will see how he feels prior to the game and make a decision from there.

Herro has made significant progress in his recovery recently and may have hinted on social media on Monday that he is close to returning after tweeting a smiley face emoji and an eye emoji.

Herro initially suffered the injury on Feb. 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers. Without Herro, the Heat have posted a 7-8 record and have won four out of their last five games.

Herro is averaging 13.1 points, four rebounds and two assists in 46 games played this season while he is shooting 39.3% from 3-point range.
