Tyler Brown looking for waiver from NCAA to gain eligibility at CU

Offensive guard Tyler Brown is waiting for an NCAA waiver to gain eligibility at Colorado

Tyler Brown, a guard that was battling for a starting sport on Colorado’s O-line, is still waiting to hear from the NCAA regarding a waiver that will grant him eligibility for this season (h/t BuffZone).

Brown needs the waiver because the NCAA only allows undergraduate players to transfer once during their career and he had already transferred once from Louisiana to Jackson State.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound junior spent his first three college seasons at Lousiana before moving to JSU to play for head coach Deion Sanders. Brown started in all 13 games for last year’s Tigers squad and played well enough to earn third-team AP FCS All-American honors. After following Coach Prime to CU, Brown worked as the first-team left guard throughout the spring and looked to be in a position to start for the Buffs this season.

While he’s waiting for his waiver, Brown is also recovering from mononucleosis. Per BuffZone, he only recently started practicing on a limited basis.
