Nebraska defensive lineman Ty Robinson has one goal as the program enters the bye week following Saturday’s 27-20 loss to the UCLA Bruins.
Robinson made his mark in Saturday’s defeat. He recorded four tackles and a sack in the game and was one of the bright spots despite the loss. His performance was just another notch in the belt for what has been a stellar season. All told he has recorded 19 tackles and four sacks on the year.
Robinson has seen this movie before, as the 2023 Nebraska football team lost the remainder of their games after starting out 5-3. He understands the task at hand as the team faces the USC Trojans in their next game. He elaborated on this in his postgame press conference.
“We make sure that doesn’t happen, that ‘here we go again’ mentality. I know I’m not going to stand for it because I’m here to win. That’s the reason why I came back, if I start hearing that around, I’m going to nip in the bud and I know the older guys will as well. I know how bad us older guys want to go out there and win. Just to fall short like that and not, it really stings, it really hurts. I know as a team we’re disappointed.
Nebraska football has to right the ship quickly if they want to have any shot at making a bowl game. Robinson, one of the veteran leaders on the defensive side of the ball, will have to play a big part in that.
