Two Vols named All-America by ABCA

Chad Dallas and Liam Spence named All-America by nation’s college baseball coaches.

A pair of Tennessee players received All-America honors Saturday, adding to a long list of postseason awards for the Volunteers in 2021.

Junior pitcher Chad Dallas and senior shortstop Liam Spence were named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams.

Dallas (11-1), a second-team standout, was Tennessee’s Friday night starter throughout the 2021 campaign. He is the first UT pitcher to earn All-America recognition since Luke Hochevar in 1994.

Dallas, who has 118 strikeouts this year, was named third-team All-America by NCBWA earlier this week.

Spence, tabbed as a third-teamer by the nation’s coaches, leads the Vols with a .339 batting average and has been a consistent contributor for Tennessee from the leadoff spot in 2021.

He is a member of the All-Southeastern Conference first-team and the SEC’s All-Defensive Team.

Spence, an Australia native, has scored 63 runs and drawn 53 walks this season.
