Penn State basketball is coming off a magical season but it is a season that sees very few returning faces for the 2023-2024 season. When a team has as many players leaving school, they must utilize the transfer portal in the best way possible.
Mike Rhoades at VCU is coming off a strong year where he saw several of his best players take big steps in developing. Two of those players entered the transfer portal shortly after Rhoades left for Penn State. [autotag]Adrian Baldwin[/autotag], a guard, and [autotag]Jalen DeLoach[/autotag], a forward, both are in the transfer portal and are expected to head to Penn State.
247Sports recently released their transfer portal rankings for college basketball and of the 75 players they ranked they both found themselves on the list. With both being favored to land at Penn State it serve as a real shot in the arm for the program as it looks to build off of a strong season.
DeLoach, who was ranked 75th on the list, averaged 9.7 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 1 APG. He is a very well-rounded power forward who could give Penn State a solid and reliable presence underneath the basket.
In the case of Baldwin, he ranked much higher as he was placed 11th overall. He could serve in a similar role that Jalen Pickett did this past year where he is a do-it-all player. Baldwin carried a stat line of 12.7 PPG, 2.9 RPG and 5.8 APG which means he should be expected to lead and make an impact on day one.
