After losing their season debut a week ago to the New Orleans Saints, the Tennessee Titans will aim to bounce back on Sunday afternoon when they host the Los Angeles Chargers.
The loss was obviously a gut punch, but for two players on the Titans, the game ended up hurting their wallets, as well.
Titans running back Julius Chestnut was fined $4,681 for an unnecessary roughness violation in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair ended up being fined a whopping $13,934 for his hit to the head of Saints quarterback Derek Carr in the third quarter.

The latter moment was caught by NFL Films.
Al-Shaair could be heard immediately admitting to Carr that he knew he messed up, but Carr was cool about it and even laughed as the contrite Tennessee linebacker checked to see if he was OK.

Hopefully, this ends up being a learning lesson for Al-Shaair and Chestnut because Tennessee doesn’t need anymore unnecessary penalties, as they can be costly in more ways than one.
