The week in Washington D.C. didn’t end how the North Carolina Tar Heels had envisioned. After making the title game by beating Florida State and Pitt, North Carolina fell to NC State. The Wolfpack completed an incredible feat by winning five games in five days, including knocking off Duke, Virginia and North Carolina.
While the Tar Heels fell short, the bigger picture is the focus. They hope to cut the nets down in Phoenix this April.
But before we get there, a pair of Tar Heels earned All-ACC Tournament honors for their play. The conference announced Sunday morning that RJ Davis and Armando Bacot were named to the All-ACC Tournament first team:

They are the only Tar Heels to earn the honors.
Part of the frustrations for the Tar Heels came from the lack of help for Davis and Bacot in the tournament. That’s not a great sign moving forward.
If the Tar Heels want to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, they are going to need role players such as Harrison Ingram and Cormac Ryan to hit shots, especially from the perimeter. That was a big struggle for them in the title game loss to NC State.
