Two NFL teams showing ‘extensive interest’ in former Florida LB Ventrell Miller

These two NFL teams are vying for Florida’s standout linebacker.

Ahead of the 2023 NFL draft next month, interest in Florida Gators linebacker Ventrell Miller appears to be heating up. According to The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler, the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets are showing “extensive interest” in the departing sixth-year senior

He is expected to meet individually with Tennessee’s linebackers coach this week and has already paid visits to the Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders. With five more weeks remaining until the draft, the 6-foot, 221-pound defender will have plenty of opportunities to connect with more teams as well.

Here’s more on Miller, per Lance Zierlein of NFL.com:

Likely two-down linebacker with good physicality but a lack of standout athletic traits. Miller appears to lack top-end speed and will lose pursuit chases on outside runs when his instincts/recognition is a step slow. He has the play strength and demeanor for life inside the box but is on the lighter side for an inside linebacker. While he’s not a playmaker, he’s hardly timid about triggering downhill and taking chances when he’s quick to diagnose the action. He can drop into zones but could be a liability when matched up in space. Miller will be a 24-year-old rookie, but he has the mental makeup and special teams potential to find backup work early on.

Miller is expected to remain available until Day 3 and could go as late as the sixth round, according to The Draft Network’s Keith Sanchez. The former Gators linebacker has a solid chance at being a late-round sleeper for one lucky team.
