Two key Patriots defenders not expected to be traded ahead of deadline

Two Patriots defenders mentioned in trade speculation are believed to be staying put

The New England Patriots have been linked to various trade rumors ahead of Tuesday’s deadline. However, a new report from FOX Sports’ Peter Schrager indicates that safety Kyle Dugger and defensive tackle Davon Godchaux are not expected to be moved.

Dugger’s name was floated around as a potential trade candidate over the weekend, but there was always doubt that he’d actually be moved. The safety has 35 tackles and a sack on the season, and he just signed a new four-year deal in the offseason.

Godchaux has been an integral part of a Patriots defensive line lacking depth due to injury. He has a combined 33 tackles on the season, including four total tackles in Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans.

“Kyle Dugger, who was given a big contract less than four months ago, I don’t think he will be traded, and Davon Godchaux, the big defensive end, he will likely not be traded,” said Schrager.

The rumor mill is buzzing as it always is around this time of the year. Who is really on the move and who isn’t? It won’t be long before we find out.
