Twitter roasts tweet that claimed Cam Newton was ‘unstoppable’ in 2015

Patriots quarterback Cam Newton had a brilliant season in 2015 but he was no match for the Broncos’ defense.

After the Patriots agreed to a one-year deal with Cam Newton, Bleacher Report’s Twitter page said the quarterback was “unstoppable” during his MVP season in 2015.

Twitter users were quick to point out that Newton was stopped — shut down, in fact — by the Broncos’ defense in the Super Bowl that year.

Newton had a remarkable regular season in 2015 but when the Panthers faced Denver in Super Bowl 50, the QB was sacked six times, threw one interception and didn’t score any touchdowns. Newton finished the game with a 55.4 passer rating and Carolina lost to the Broncos 24-10.

So, yes, Newton was amazing in 2015. But he wasn’t unstoppable.
