Twitter roasts Tommy Rees during Notre Dame’s brutal first half

The Irish’s offensive coordinator is taking some heat.

So that didn’t go how anyone expected. Notre Dame found itself behind Stanford, 10-0, at halftime. The only would-be touchdown for the Irish was wiped out on an ineligible receiver call, and they ended up turning it over on downs. This was part of a first half in which the Irish accumulated 106 yards and succeeded on only two of their eight third-down situations.

The offense hasn’t been that great this season, and the natural target is Irish offensive coordinator [autotag]Tommy Rees[/autotag]. If the Irish were to lose to the Cardinal, there’s no question that the calls for Rees’ ousting only would escalate. You hate to be [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] in this situation having to consider making this call. For many Irish fans though, they are Freeman, and Rees needs to be dismissed.
