Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan has made the first known addition to his offensive staff.
According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, the Titans are hiring former Chicago Bears wide receivers coach and passing-game coordinator Tyke Tolbert as their wide receivers coach.
Wolfe adds that Tolbert was in high demand but ultimately chose to work for the Titans because of Callahan, who he has a connection with from their days together with the Denver Broncos, where they won a Super Bowl in 2015.
Tolbert, who was fired by the Bears last month, brings a wealth of experience with him to Nashville. He’s been a coach at the professional level since 2003, and he held multiple college jobs before that.
On Tolbert’s watch, the Bears’ passing attack improved from dead-last in 2022 to No. 27 in 2023. In addition, Bears wideout DJ Moore had a career-best season in the latter year.
And, as you’ll find out by scrolling through the Twitter reaction below, he has a history of developing other good receivers.
