It was a painful one in Nissan Stadium as Stephen Gostkowski’s 45-yard field goal attempt went wide right in what looked to be a situation that would surely send a now-defeated Tennessee Titans team into overtime.
Instead, they fell 27-24 to the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, who remain the only unblemished team left in the AFC. Pittsburgh also has an early grip on the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Should Mike Vrabel have chosen to go for it on this one? What does the loss tell us about this team as a whole?
It’s impossible for everyone to agree on one answer to either of those questions, but there were certainly some opinions to be had after the loss.
Here’s a look at what Twitter had to say after the Titans’ disappointing defeat at the hands of the Steelers.
Incredible end of game drive for @ryantannehill1 and the offense. Didn’t end the way we wanted but so much fight in this @Titans team! Wish so badly I was out there.

i’d rather have you kick the field goal at this point. ACL or not

Don’t know that we really learned anything about the #Titans in this one. Right now, they’re a gritty team with a talented offense and a defense that’s a liability.

#Titans' Vrabel: Confident that Gostkowski will make the next one.

Gostkowski has been perfect from 50+
Not so much from 49 and less… He misses 45 yarder and it costs the #Titans the game.

Current status: in a toxic relationship with the Tennessee #Titans

Never ever play for a tie. That’s what happens. #Titans

#Titans loss hurts. Gostkowski miss is frustrating. But he hit a 51-yarder in this game and has made three game winners this year. This is a loss I can live with. Secondary's first half play was way worse than anything Gostkowski did. #TENvsPIT

Yea we’re still undefeated but that was an embarrassing win. Steelers had a 17 point lead and it came down to a missed FG smh. #TENvsPIT.
