Steelers fans pushing for their team to select a running back had to wait a while, but they finally got what they asked for on Day 3.
Rather than an immediate impact running back early in the draft, the Steelers chose a depth RB in the fourth round.
Fans and media took to Twitter to share their thoughts on drafting Maryland’s Anthony McFarland, Jr. at No. 124 overall.

The Pittsburgh Steelers draft Anthony McFarland Jr.
This kid can play. Enormous ceiling, but I think he needed some time to develop.
Beautiful landing spot. Dynasty value.

Anthony McFarland Jr is the perfect back to pair with James Connor. They needed speed and receiving ability back there and got that with McFarland Jr. No doubt hes much better than the backs that have been coming off the board so far today. #Steelers.

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert on Anthony McFarland Jr.: "We were able to add a running back that gives us a little change-up characteristics different than the guys we have." Mentions his one-cut quickness and finishing speed.
