The blows just keep coming for the Chicago Bears. After back-to-back brutal losses and a mini COVID-19 outbreak that sidelined some important players, the Bears will now be without outside linebacker Khalil Mack.
Mack has been battling a foot injury suffered back in Week 3. While he’s been a regular on the injury report — and hasn’t practiced — he’s always been ready to go on game day.
But now, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mack is not expected to play this week against the San Francisco 49ers as he nurses that foot injury. Even worse? According to Rapoport, there are discussions about placing Mack on injured reserve — which would sideline him three games — as he lets his foot heal.
As you can imagine, this news is not going over well with Bears fans, who are taking this as a sign the season is already over — and some wondering, at this point, how things could get worse. Let’s not tempt fate, shall we.
