LSU football was originally set to face the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 1 of the 2020 college football season, but now the Tigers will take on another Mississippi team to kick off the year.
The Tigers will play the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who they defeated 36-13 en route to a national championship last season.
LSU has defeated Mississippi State in the past two meetings, though both teams look very different this year.
The Tigers lost 14 players to the 2020 NFL Draft, including Joe Burrow. Myles Brennan is expected to take the reins for the Tigers, while K.J. Costello is expected to assume to helm in Mike Leach’s Air-Raid offense.

#LSU's official release says kickoff time and TV plans for the Mississippi State game will be announced at a later date.
Gotta think Ed Orgeron v. Mike Leach makes for good TV. https://t.co/kKIsfCGgQw

Mike Leach Air Raid at LSU with no fans, a new QB, and a new DC has some chaos potential that could be a lot of fun. https://t.co/ifJIYn8A8w
