The wrath of Twitter is swift and strong, and if Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert didn’t know that before, he is certainly well aware of it now.
Herbert, the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, showed up for his latest media availability with a new haircut, trading in his feathered and lethal locks for a buzzcut that makes him look even more like someone still south of his driver’s license.
It didn’t take long for his new look to circulate on social media (the original post courtesy of The Athletic’s Daniel Popper), and the reactions were about what you’d expect:

As long as he keeps up his current level of play, Chargers fans aren’t likely to care about Herbert’s hair. He’s been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NFL through the first half of his rookie season, making the Bolts look smart for landing him with the No. 6 overall pick.
