Well, we were expecting an odd one between the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday—and this NFC South matchup hasn’t disappointed.
After a wet, windy and paltry first half of football, the Panthers began the third quarter looking to erase a 7-3 deficit. With points difficult to come by in the rough conditions, the offense opted to try and convert and a fourth-and-7 from the Atlanta 36-yard line.
Quarterback Bryce Young hit wide receiver Adam Thielen right to the sticks, but not exactly past them. The uncertain spot, which took a few minutes to sort out, left both offenses staring one another down . . .

After some discussion, the ball was ruled short of the line to gain and resulted in a turnover on downs. And needless to say, football fans were left a bit puzzled by what was happening . . .
