Twitter reacts: DJ Uiagalelei and Cade Klubnik’s week one performances

A look at how Twitter reacted to DJ Uiagalelei and Cade Klubnik’s week one performances.

Clemson walked away from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta Monday night with a 41-10 win over Georgia Tech, where we got to both starting quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, and highly touted freshman Cade Klubnik get their first action of the season.

Uiagalelei and the offense may have come out the gates slow, but the junior quarterback turned things around, seemingly getting better by the snap. He finished the game completing 19-32 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown while also adding a rushing touchdown helping the Tigers’ put 34-points on the board.

The freshman Cade Klubnik was under center for Clemson’s final drive, and he put on a show for the Tigers’ fans. He completed 4-6 passes for 50 yards and a touchdown in his first action for the team. It was a smooth performance from the young quarterback.

Both quarterbacks flashed their immense potential, though college football fans seem to be more excited about Klubnik’s future under center. While I understand why the hype surrounding Klubnik is extreme, I believe Uiagalelei made some beautiful throws with his receivers dropping some passes that would have made him look even better.
