INDIANAPOLIS, In. — The Michigan Wolverines have conquered the Big Ten.
The Wolverines defeated Iowa on Saturday, 42-3. It was the first Big Ten Championship for the maize and blue since 2004, and it sure was pure domination.
Michigan outgained Iowa, 461-279, in the game. The defense caused havoc all game long against the putrid Iowa offense. The Hawkeyes could only gain 279 yards in the game, but they could only manage 104 rushing yards. Iowa’s game plan entering the game was to run the ball, establish drives, and shorten the game.
But the Michigan defense wasn’t up for that. Instead, it shut down Iowa, and the offense exploded. The Wolverines had four touchdowns in the second half, and while the offense sputtered towards the end of the first half, it showed no ill will in the second.
Josh Gattis and Mike Macdonald both called excellent games, the crowd brought energy, and Michigan was victorious.
Twitter had plenty of reactions after the game, and here are the best.
