Twitter reaction to USC’s historic recruiting day (and Lincoln Riley’s tweets)

Monday morning, Lincoln Riley tweeted the Fight On! emoji. Then it was off to the races. Four recruits later, #USCTwitter was amazed.

You know the news by now. On Monday, USC football made a splash in the recruiting world, landing four recruits, three of which were announced on June 5, 2023. The fourth will be named later on Tuesday, June 6.

Offensive lineman Manasse Itete joined cornerback Dakoda Fields from Gardena, Calif., and edge rusher Kameryn Fountain from Atlanta, as the three named recruits in Monday’s big haul. Those three players joined two other new Trojans whose arrivals were announced on Sunday: offensive lineman Hayden Treter from Colorado and safety Jarvis Boatwright from Florida. Add it all up, and Lincoln Riley’s coaching staff landed six recruits in just over 50 hours.

Monday morning, Trojan fans were soaking up the good vibes from the Treter and Boatwright commitments announced on Sunday. Then, a little after 8 a.m. in Los Angeles, Lincoln Riley tweeted another Fight On! emoji.

It would be the first of multiple Fight On! emojis tweeted that day.

USC Twitter, as you can imagine, roared with delight. Let’s look at a magic Monday which was fueled by tweets from the head coach and took off from there:
