The North Carolina Tar Heels have added a second player out of the transfer portal. Former Louisville forward Jae’Lyn Withers committed to the program on Tuesday morning.
With a roster that has holes due to six departures to the portal and two to graduation, Hubert Davis and his staff have the tough task of building up this roster and getting the program back on track. So far, they have added two pieces to that puzzle.
Withers is a North Carolina native and a former four-star recruit that committed to Louisville as part of the 2019 class. He spent three seasons with the Cardinals, averaging 8.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 45.9% from the floor. In 2022-23, he averaged 8.9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
At North Carolina, Withers gives the Tar Heels another presence in the paint as a forward and it will be interesting to see where he fits in the rotation come next season.
The addition of Withers doesn’t mean UNC is out on other transfers either. The prpgram has its eyes on a few other prospects including Harrison Ingram. Before we look too far ahead, here is how Twitter reacted to the news of Withers committing on Tuesday.
