Twitter is Angry: Georgia likely to finish 2022 without hosting a night game

Georgia will probably not host a single night game this season and Twitter is not happy about it

Only two Football Bowl Subdivision programs have not played host to a game under the lights this season. One of them is Georgia, the defending national champions. The other is Virginia (3-4).

Georgia has played in Sanford Stadium four times this season. There has been a noon kickoff, a 4 p.m. kickoff and two 3:30 kickoffs.

Next up is Florida, a game that’s always in Jacksonville at 3:30 p.m.

After that, Tennessee. Another 3:30 p.m. kickoff on CBS.

Georgia fans are not happy about that one, but it was 100% expected. CBS picks the best game of the day, like it does every year, and gives it its 3:30 kickoff time. But that does not make it any less frustrating. Can you imagine the electricity in Athens for what would possibly be a No. 1 vs. No. 3 Bulldogs-Vols game under the lights? Wow.

After that, Georgia does not have a home game until Nov. 26 against Georgia Tech. That has not been a night game since 2010. So it’s very likely UGA will finish the season without a single game under the lights in Sanford Stadium.

And Twitter is not happy about…
