TV broadcast crew announced for Kentucky vs. South Carolina

Sean McDonough (play by play) and Greg McElroy (analyst) will have the call for Kentucky vs. South Carolina in Lexington at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC.

It isn’t often that ESPN/ABC’s No. 2 college football broadcast team visits Lexington. Nevertheless, that crew will be at Kroger Field Saturday for Kentucky’s SEC opener against South Carolina.

ESPN has made its Week 2 college football commentator pairings official. For Kentucky-South Carolina, ESPN/ABC’s broadcast crew of Sean McDonough (play-by-play), Greg McElroy (analyst) and Molly McGrath (sideline reporter) will be on the call.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. It’s the Wildcats’ first appearance in the new “SEC on ABC” time slot. The SEC’s marquee 3:30 game is in its first year on ABC after 28 seasons with CBS.

Unlike with CBS, ESPN will use a trio of its top three commentator pairings for its weekly 3:30 p.m. SEC on ABC game. McDonough/McElroy is one of them. Chris Fowler/Kirk Herbstreit/Holly Rowe is another, as is Joe Tessitore/Jesse Palmer/Katie George.

Kentucky and South Carolina are both unranked following Week 1 victories. The Wildcats, who posted a 31-0 shutout win over Southern Miss last Saturday, received the fourth most votes for Top 25 consideration of teams that landed outside the Week 2 US LBM Coaches Poll with 23 votes.
