Penn State will be on the road for a second straight week this weekend when they visit Minnesota with hopes of staying on track to host a first-round College Football Playoff game coming together. But the Nittany Lions will be closing out the regular season in Beaver Stadium next week with a home game against Maryland. And now we know what time the game will kick off.
Penn State announced its home game against Maryland on Saturday, Nov. 30 will start at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on Big Ten Network. As this will be the last regular season game of the year in Beaver Stadium, Penn State will honor its seniors with a pregame ceremony. Of course, there is a real chance another home game will be added to the schedule in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
Penn State will come into this week’s road game at Minnesota knowing where it stands in the playoff picture. Penn State’s playoff ranking will be updated on Tuesday evening but the no. 4 Nittany Lions figure to hold firm in the selection committee’s rankings this week after a blowout win over Purdue. That ranking, without the Big Ten championship, would slate Penn State to be in line to host a first-round game in the expanded College Football Playoff on either Dec. 20 or Dec. 21.
