Tulane commit finalizes dates for first Florida visit

He might committed to Tulane, but tight end Traville Frederick Jr. is still taking a look at Florida after picking up an offer.

Jeanerette Senior High (Louisiana) tight end Traville Frederick Jr. picked up an offer from the Gators in April and he now has dates locked in for his first visit to the Swamp, according to Gators Online.

“I will be visiting Florida the 17-18 of June,” Frederick said. “It’s going to be an unofficial visit.”

Florida and Frederick have been in contact for a few months and defensive backs coach Corey Raymond is taking the lead for the Gators. If anyone is going to get Frederick to flip, it’s Raymond. He’s known as one of the nation’s top position coaches and has a track record of sending guys to the NFL.

Tulane is still the team to beat in Frederick’s recruitment, but a significant amount of Power Five options has him keeping options open. He won’t sign with a program for at least another seven months, so there’s time for Florida to work. Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M are the programs to watch.

The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major recruiting services, has Frederick at No. 835 nationally and No. 39 among tight ends in the class of 2024. He’s also the 28th-best player out of the state of Louisiana.
