Tuesday Night Football: Why the Ravens and Cowboys are playing on a special night in Week 13

This all started on Thanksgiving.

It seems like Thanksgiving was forever ago (and it was! As of publishing this post it was nearly two weeks ago).

But we have to cite the holiday here because the Baltimore Ravens game that was supposed to be played on that Thursday night had repercussions on the game that will take place on this Tuesday.

It was in Week 12 that the Ravens — who had a COVID-19 outbreak — ended up playing the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Baltimore was then supposed to play the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Dec. 3 for their Week 13 game. And there was no way the NFL was going to have a team play on back-to-back nights. So THAT game was moved to Tuesday night, Dec 8.

Fun fact: it’ll be the third regular-season Tuesday NFL game since 1946:
