Tua Tagovailoa has been among the best quarterbacks in the game when it comes to his accuracy.
In 2021, he finished seventh in completion percentage, completing 67.8% of his attempts. The only quarterbacks ahead of him were Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, Dak Prescott, Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo.
However, one aspect of Tagovailoa’s game that has been scrutinized is his arm strength. Whether it’s throwing the ball deep or putting enough zip on it to get to the sidelines with a defender in the area, the former Crimson Tide signal-caller could use some work in that department like a number of young quarterbacks do.
Earlier in the offseason, Tagovailoa shared that he wished to improve his arm strength before the start of the 2022 campaign, and it looks like he’s doing exactly that.
On Friday, Tagovailoa’s trainer, Nick Hicks, posted a video to show fans and media a glimpse of the program that the two are working on to improve his arm strength this year.
Aloha Friday yall 🤙🏽
A look into our “Arm Strength” program this off season.
After an Upper DWU, we’d get into a plyo ball series on the wall manipulating the arm by way of variable resistance and applying ground force.
Then onto long toss, bringing it back in with high velo. pic.twitter.com/lOXOKGGOPR

While the talent surrounding Tagovailoa will make it easier for him, he still wants to take his game to the next level, and working on his weaknesses can only help.
