Since he returned from the rib injury that landed him on injured reserve, Tua Tagovailoa has led the Miami Dolphins to two agonizing defeats at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons.
While both games ended as losses, Tagovailoa looked to have two of his better games. However, a couple of mistakes and poor defense led to the game slipping away.
Pro Football Focus has actually been so impressed by his performance in these contests, that they’ve graded him as the fourth-best quarterback in that span with an 89 grade.
They also noted that this is the first time a Dolphins’ quarterback received a grade of at least 80 in back-to-back weeks since Ryan Tannehill accomplished the feat in 2015.
In these games, Tagovailoa has passed for the third-most yards (620) and has the third-highest completion percentage (74.7%), and, while his play hasn’t led to wins in the last two weeks, he hasn’t been the reason the Dolphins have lost.
