Should they want it, the Cincinnati Bengals have some flexibility at the top of the 2020 NFL draft in the wake of Tua Tagovailoa’s draft decision.
Alongside Nick Saban on Monday, the Alabama Crimson Tide passer revealed he will indeed join the 2020 draft class. That ends months of speculation after another stellar season was cut short via injury.
While the foregone conclusion seems to be the Bengals will grab LSU’s Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Joe Burrow, there was a time when Tagovailoa was considered the top passer in the draft. If he’s fully cleared medically, the debate is about to get started anew.
The Bengals will do due diligence on both, but the grander point to remember is the presence of two top-flight quarterbacks could give the Bengals options when it comes to trades, should they want to sell the top pick.
Unlikely? Probably. But it’s something to remember now that Burrow has some company near the top of the draft.

Tua's career Total QBR of 93.4 at Alabama is the best in the history of the metric (since 2004).
