It isn’t every day that you see a tight spiral go 50 yards out of a southpaw’s arm at the collegiate level. There is one former Alabama player that comes to mind, though. That is former Alabama quarterback and Heisman Trophy finalist Tua Tagovailoa.
The Hawaiian native received some praise from Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel on Thursday. Here is what McDaniel had to say when speaking on the Dan Le Batard Show:
“It’s the most accurate, catchable ball I’ve ever seen.”
Tagovailoa will be entering his third season as the team’s starting quarterback. McDaniel will be serving his first year as head coach for the Dolphins.
The two will likely create one of the most potent offenses in the NFL. Tagovailoa will have no shortage of options across the board. There is a great nucleus of skilled players surrounding the former Alabama quarterback. One of those is former Alabama wide receiver, Jaylen Waddle. If Waddle’s speed isn’t enough, the team also added former West Alabama wide receiver Tyreek Hill this offseason.
Tagovailoa will have to be more accurate than in his first two seasons if the Dolphins want to reach the playoffs in a top-heavy AFC. It should be interesting to see how McDaniel and Tagovailoa coincide in Miami.
His accuracy isn’t expected to be a problem. McDaniel seemed to just be corroborating what star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has said all offseason long.
1-on-1 with @cheetah #Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill on his electric day with the #Dolphins offense, whether it was a good idea to compare his connection with @Tua to @dennisrodman & @carmenelectra (vs say Jigga & Bey), how I can get speed quads like his & how far is this team going? pic.twitter.com/7np8KzlPkV

Roll Tide Wire will continue to keep track of Tagovailoa and other former Alabama players from around the NFL.
