The college football season got one step closer to wrapping up last weekend with conference championship games, fortunately, football is not completely over as we still have a bowl season and five more weeks of NFL games.
Just like how it was in college this season, the playoff race in the NFL is wide open with the Miami Dolphins holding the top spot in the AFC and the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC, both teams led by former Alabama quarterbacks.
With five weeks remaining in the season, Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa is the AFC leader in Pro Bowl votes at the quarterback position. Tagovailoa and the Dolphins offense has been simply sensational, and it certainly does not hurt that Tyreek Hill is on fire and on his way to becoming the first receiver in NFL history to have 2,000 yards receiving in one season.
Through 12 starts in the 2023 season, Tagovailoa has completed 70.1% of his passes for 3,457 yards and 24 touchdowns with only 10 interceptions. Like Hill, Tagovailoa has a strong case for the NFL MVP as he is top three in the league in passing yards while having his time in the No. 1 seed. Shockingly, Tua is the only former Alabama player to be a leading vote-getter at his position.
